"Anthony Lister is a well-known Australian contemporary artist, particularly recognised for his street art and paintings. One recurring motif in his work is "Che Che the clapping monkey," which appears in various forms. This motif has been found in fine art paintings, his street art murals as well as installations and prints. Like much of Lister's work, the monkey motif can be interpreted in various ways. It adds a sense of playful chaos to his works. In essence, the clapping monkey is a distinctive element within Anthony Lister's artistic vocabulary, contributing to his signature style."
